Aequilibrium partnered with Trade and Invest British Columbia to conceptualize, design, and develop BC Gateway, a multiplayer virtual reality experience that brought British Columbia to life. Our strategy focused on creating an accessible, engaging, and modular platform built for impact at global events.
We designed a product strategy around a pyramid model for engaging, scalable VR experiences:
Audience Relevance: Content was tailored to resonate with diverse global audiences (trade delegates, tourists, students) by connecting BC’s story to their interests.
Interaction Simplicity: Intuitive design with glance-based triggers, auto-activation zones, and one-button gestures ensured immediate engagement without complex tutorials, crucial for busy event environments.
Content Modularity: A flexible pavilion layout allowed for easy swapping of new industries, landmarks, or thematic content without re-engineering the core system, maximizing long-term value.
Performance Accessibility: Rigorous optimization for Quest 3 ensured smooth, stable, and comfortable multiplayer experiences, maintaining a high-quality brand perception.

- Flexible Gateway Platform: The underlying Gateway system can now be adapted for various clients and contexts with minimal re-development, creating a scalable solution for immersive event experiences.
